It's difficult for the Australian squad to achieve unprecedented feats.

The greatest achievements have long been mastered.

We're talking about the unit that has won seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to an additional six T20 titles, and once went over three years undefeated in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, those for the peak baggers, are what's still available for a squad that has achieved everything.

That it took until Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to accomplish their maiden ODI chase exceeding 300, reclaiming their record for the largest in the female 50-over format, is, honestly, a testament to the pitchers that have represented Australia over the past 50 years.

It's challenging for their batsmen to hold a record if not provided the chance.

Ultimately, the outcome of Australia allowing 330 runs was leader Alyssa Healy receiving a chance to create her newest gem.

Initially recognized as the teenage relative of renowned former Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she debuted in 2010 after Australia didn't secure either of the T20 or ODI World Cups held the previous year and has experienced everything through 15 trophy-laden years since.

A T20 championship victory arrived three months after her debut and seven international trophies have resulted from 10 efforts across formats.

The gritty keeper was also there in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final defeat by India briefly halted the successful run.

That loss "pushed us to reconsider our benchmarks," Healy commented earlier.

At the subsequent ODI World Cup in New Zealand, Healy made 170 against England in the championship match and was named player of the tournament. She made sure her country would not come up short.

The question of whether this recent magnificent innings topped that previous effort remains open for discussion.

Certain people claim the reasoning behind the pressure of a final. Different voices suggest with the test that comes when confronting a historic chase and an enthusiastic Indian fanbase of 20,000.

What is certain is this century was considerably tougher to see coming.

The New Zealand onslaught in 2022 happened while she topped the run-scoring charts, but this knock was preceded by six games in India over the past few weeks in which she had failed to pass 30.

"If you've observed me in training, it has been a disappointing period because it appeared my form was missing at all," commented Healy.

"But once you enter the playing area, your competitive nature take over and you simply focus on the contest."

Healy's competitiveness has consistently been her key asset - and a priceless quality in replacing famous previous leader Meg Lanning.

She was challenged by India's rising star Kranti Gaud in the previous month's ODI series, dismissed by the 22-year-old seamer in each encounter, but here that only provided Healy's inspiration.

One run resulted off the bowler's initial ball and from there Healy was in motion.

"A chance to play and engage in competition with her and just have a bit of fun that way, kind of motivated me," stated Healy.

She got to fifty in 35 balls - her quickest at the global tournament - and her hundred in 84 deliveries while she attacked short-pitched balls, hitting 21 fours and three sixes.

When she was out Australia needed 66 additional runs at run per delivery - an unconquered height now demanding an easy conclusion.

"Pursuing 330 is uncharted waters so I am glad we have the assurance to achieve that now," continued Healy.

"Ideally we won't need to do it another time but, should it happen, we believe we can do it."

That comment will be the final thing competing nations at this championship should hear.

During the last week a belief they will win from any position has grown stronger - this success succeeding success over Pakistan by 107-run victory despite being 76-7 at a certain moment.

Next Australia play Bangladesh before a meeting with old rivals England in Indore in 10 days, by which point a semi-final berth may probably be guaranteed.

It was in the semi-finals they were eliminated from the previous year's T20 World Cup in an unexpected loss by South Africa - a game Healy couldn't play because of torn tissue in her foot as she guided Australia for the first time at a major tournament.

So great is her will, she later said she wanted to have participated with the discomfort.

But while she afterwards confessed those fitness problems have postponed consideration of ending her career, this championship is likely to be her concluding event as leader in ODI cricket and she is hasn't yet secured a world championship as skipper.

Victory in India would lead her to the peak of her ultimate challenge.
